6 Beach Dog Toys

Life’s a Beach!  For a dog, there is nothing more fun than making a splash in the ocean with a buddy –  sandy paws & piles of seaweed & chasing the waves.  Create memories of your dog as happy as a clam on the beach soaking up the sun.  Keep the fun going at home with these “beach toys” for your special pup.

Ali’s Salmon Sailboats — Gourmet Cat Treat

We never forget our feline friends at our parties, although it may be harder to find a “Beach Cat” than it is to find a “Beach Dog.”  After the party is over, head home to gossip with your cat about all the silly dogs and serve these special Cat Treats – Ali’s Salmon Sailboats.

  • 1 6-ounce can salmon in water, drained
  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, partially thawed (so it can be handled without tearing)
  • ¼ cup flour (for rolling out treats)
  • In small bowl, use a fork to shred the salmon into fine pieces.
  • Place the sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface and cut in half.
  • Spread the salmon evenly over one puff pastry half sheet.
  • Place the other puff pastry half sheet over the salmon-covered sheet.
  • Cut out shapes using a pet treat cutter, such as the mini sailboat. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool on a baking rack and store in the refrigerator.
  • Recipe makes 1 dozen cat treats.

Variation:  You can create Tuna Sailboats by substituting 1 6-ounce can of tuna in water, drained, for the salmon.

Soak up the Sun & Catch the Waves with your Dog

Dogs are experts at having fun.

My dog always seems to know just the right time to stop and enjoy the moment.  So I never leave home and head to the beach without him – the perfect First Mate for building a sandcastle, digging for treasures, and watching a sunset.
