When I welcomed my two kittens, Ali and Z, to my world, I did so with a fabulous adoption party, and I have celebrated every anniversary of that party. This year, the theme of the party is “A Royal Celebration” complete with a Kitten Wish List, a Prosecco Bar, and Meowgical CatCakes.
What do you need to plan a Kitten Adoption Party?
The party starts with kittens – of course! Bring fantasy and fun to your party with a scene that sparkles, party gifts that enchant, party food that delights, and party cocktails that convince your Party guests to Believe in the Magic of having frivolous fun with friends!
Our advice for planning parties – and especially pet parties — is that there are no limits or rules – go with your imagination. Keep it simple, enjoy the party preparation and the party, and have fun – silly and stylish fun.
Kitten Wish List
Ali’s favorite memory from her “Kitten Debut” party was the Kitten Wish List, which works exactly the way it does when engaged couples register for gifts they want for their wedding. I consulted with Ali on this party, and she decided we should definitely repeat the “Ali & Z Wish List” on Amazon (with a link provided to all Party Guests).

The Prosecco Cocktail Bar
A signature element of every Properly Posh Pets party is the Classic Cocktail, and we found the perfect idea to make our “Royal Celebration” as sparkly as the guests of honor – a Prosecco Bar!
If you want your kittens to enjoy the party as much as your party guests do once the Prosecco starts flowing, make sure you have remembered the catnip toys!
How to Set Up a Prosecco Bar
Prosecco is an Italian light sparkling white wine like French Champagne but reasonably priced. Arrange a few bottles of Prosecco in ice buckets and offer your guests a variety of flavored liqueurs and fruit juices to mix their own delicious concoction. Set out champagne flutes and several tall spoons for mixing. Create an easy non-alcoholic version by offering sparkling water.

Kitten Party Treats — “Meowgical Cat Cakes”
Cats like parties too! Especially if the party food includes a special treat for your party stars with tuna and shrimp. Here are our tasty Meowgical Cat Cakes, which are certain to please even the most finicky felines.
Ingredients
- 1 6-ounce can tuna, drained
- ¼ teaspoon shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 egg white
- 2 cooked, peeled shrimp
Directions
- Put the tuna and cheese into a bowl and shred the tuna into small pieces.
- Add the flour and egg white, mixing well.
- Fill 2 cupcake paper cups and place them in a cupcake tin.
- Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes.
- Garnish cakes with shrimp.
- Decorate with a Properly Posh Pets cake topper.
- Recipe makes 2 Cat Cakes.
